Mainsail Arts Festival
I recently attended the Mainsail Arts Festival in downtown St.
Petersburg just as I have for the past six or seven years and once again I
was not disappointed. It was an opportunity for artists from all over the
United States to show off their unusual objects, paintings, sculptors,
clothing and jewelry.
While at the Mainsail Arts Festival there were many paintings and
photographs that were full of color, dimension and size. They also had a
variety of sizes from very small to large. There were an array of wood
products such as tables, chairs, game boards, kitchen utensils, home
accessories, outdoor furniture, trinket boxes and the list goes on. Also on
display at the Mainsale Arts Festival were many varieties of glass objects
such as hand blown glass vases, bowls and table art which I find fascinating
as to how they can blow it and shape without breaking. Guess that's an art
I'll never understand.
Many of the vendors at the Arts Festival offered up their handmade
gold and silver jewelry from earrings and necklaces, to rings and pins as
well as charms. Many of these are one of a kind made with different stones
and jewels. Something you wouldn't find in your local department store.
I look forward to the Mainsail Arts Festival coming into town next
year to see what the artists bring along with them.
